Philosophy of Practice
Donald L. Scoggins strives to provide individualized services to each client. He assists clients in identifying their goals and explains to them the options that are reasonably available to meet those goals. He reviews the strengths and weaknesses of each option with the client, to enable the client to make informed decisions regarding his or her legal matter.
Areas of Practice
The primary areas of practice include probate/decedent estate administration, conservatorships, guardianships, will contests, trust contests, and special needs trusts. The area of practice also touches on the areas of wills, trusts and estate planning.

Located in Los Angeles, California, the firm offers legal services in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California.
Principal
Mr. Scoggins has more than 21 years experience providing legal services in the Southern California community. Mr. Scoggins appears almost weekly before the Los Angeles Superior Court probate department, and is on the executive committee of the trust and estates section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Superior Court's Probate Volunteer Panel. The Superior Court regularly appoints him to represent individuals who are the subjects of probate proceedings.
Mr. Scoggins grew-up in Nebraska, where he graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with High Distinction and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He was a Regents’ Scholar and a Chancellor’s Superior Scholar, as well as a Lillian A. Portenier Social Sciences Scholar.
After working as a staff accountant for a large Orange County real estate developer, Mr. Scoggins earned his law degree from Loyola Law School, where he was a member of Law Review. In addition to his private practice, Mr. Scoggins teaches probate classes at California State University Los Angeles, as part of the paralegal studies certificate program. He has resided in California for more than 25 years.
